Updates for this week

Dying ambers of 2009. Any last words?

I’m currently listening to Every Breath You Take by The Police.

I like the music video. I think it’s one of the best music video ever directed. And the music. What can I say? The vocals, the guitar, the drums, and the meaningful lyrics. It was bred as a winning formula.

I’m currently watching 风云2 by the Pang brothers .

I think this movie was badly directed. The plot was there, the visual effects was wonderful, the acting was up to standard. So what went wrong? I think the starting thirty minutes of the show was directed badly. It tried to summarise everything of the Japanese invasion arc, and the love relationship between the actors seem forced. Only at the beginning of the second half was I able to enjoy the show. I was able to make up the plot because I did read the comics online. Most of my friends who’s watched the show told me they could not understand what was going on. It’s still worth the money, just don’t expect a mind blasting experience. You’ll not find it here.

I’m currently playing Prototype from Radical Entertainment.

Couldn’t find enough time to complete the game. It’s been a busy week.

I’m currently inspired by Luther Perkins.

One of the Tennessee Three alongside Johnny Cash, he was recognised for having immense talent in playing the guitar. However, he was overcome with exhaustion from his tours and eventually gave in when he’d fall asleep while filling tax papers on a couch with a lit cigarette. He suffered third degree burns of fifty percent of his body, and never woke up. He’s a really good guitarist and it’s just unfortunate he’s gone out that way.

I’m currently interested in revisiting Genting Highlands.

I can still smell the cold mountain air breeze. I miss that place already.

Updates for this week

Learn to shutup.

I’m currently listening to I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire by The Ink Spots.

An oldie, inspired when playing Fallout 3.

I’m currently watching The Big Lebowski by Joel and Ethan Coen.

Comic relief. A freakin’ hilarious movie made about a slacker who by a case of mistaken identity finds himself tangled up in the middle of a big mess. I like the film because of it’s good character development.

I’m currently playing Prototype from Radical Entertainment this week.

This is a sorta Cloverfield + Resident Evil + Grand Theft Auto type of game. Firstly, I like the open world gameplay. It allows you to free roam around the in-game universe, exploring and playing mini-games which can be used to redeem points to upgrade your character attributes. The plot is kinda obscured, and the game starts with him claiming that he was the cause of the infection, after which it goes back in time and allows you to control the player when he’s still normal. I like plots like this cause it keeps my attention, and I push to find out more about what happen and to connect the dots between the present him and the future him. Combat is also fun in prototype, and the enemies are perfectly balanced and worth the time for. So far it looks like a good game.

I’m currently inspired by Budd Dwyer.

A politician who continually professed his innocence on charges pressed against him for corruption which he was found guilty for. A day before his final sentencing, he called for a press conference, and shot himself in the head. The videos are still widely circulated online, and is kinda rough so I wouldn’t recommend it to all. His last words were allegedly, ” don’t come near, this will hurt someone”. I wouldn’t say he’s a good role model (obviously), but this man wanted death rather than disgrace.

I’m currently interested in naughty girls.

Especially those who likes to unsheathe their claws.

Updates for this week

I smell a quiet Christmas coming. I’d wish for a better economy to take the sad faces off everyone, but I’m a nobody to make something of that kind of scale come true.

I’m currently listening to Hurt by Johnny Cash.

I like his music, I always thought they had the zest of a true musician. This song was released before he died less than a year later, and is haunting in a strange way. Guess that’s a way of a true man saying goodbye.

I’m currently watching Zombieland by Ruben Fleischer.

Another film made about a zombie infection again?! That’s what I thought at first. True, there are hundreds of movies out there trying to capitalise on this genre,  featuring survivors trying to fight their way out across hordes of zombies, but this one’s not like your typical Resident Evil, I am Legend, or 28 days later (which eventually turned into 28 weeks later, and who knows when it’ll be 28 centuries later). I think this is unique in it’s own way because it finally shows what we guys have been thinking in the back of our head (and don’t you deny it), that it can be fun to survive an infection! I’ve dreamed about pumping rounds and rounds into zombies, wandering deserted supermarkets for FHM magazines, driving 200km at roads that says 20km. C’mon now, you gotta be a dork to say no to all that!

I’m currently playing no games this week.

Stay tune though, I’ve just picked up a new game called Prototype. And guess what, it’s about zombies. :)

I’m currently inspired by bikers.

Days like this just makes me wish I could join the ranks of the two wheelers.. Now begins my search for the perfect bike.

I’m currently interested in Starcraft II from Blizzard Entertainment.

A chain of events led me back to the universe of Starcraft, two hours on Wikipedia, and a head full of tactics for planet domination. What exactly is the Queen of Blades up to?

Updates for this week

The festival of sacrifice, or more commonly known as Hari Raya Haji, and a reshift of focus for me.

I’m currently listening to Champagne Supernova by Oasis.

Individual interpretation of the song differs, but i think  it seems to be another song on the downs of society.

I’m currently watching Inglourious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino.

I think it’s another masterpiece from Tarantino. Usual blood and gore aside, this film however misses out on something, a lack of depth in character development. I think that’s the downside for having a big cast.

I’m currently playing no games this week.

Busy busy busy!

I’m currently inspired by Winston Churchill.

The prime minister who guided England through World War II.

I’m currently interested in skydivers.

Courageous, daring, adventurous and they enjoy loads of fun.

Updates for this week

Late nights galore. This week was one that I’ve truly enjoyed.

I’m currently listening to You Know I’m No Good by Arctic Monkeys.

A cover of the song by the same title from Amy Winehouse.

I’m currently watching 2046 by Wong Kar-Wai.

A slow and sensual love film centered around a man with a broken heart.

I’m currently playing Fallout 3 from Bethesda Game Studios.

After all the critical acclaim thrown at it, I knew I had to try it out myself. Open world gameplay was brilliant, but unimaginative story plot starts on a high and ends on a low.

I’m currently inspired by Chow Mo-wan.

Well, do I still need to go into that?

I’m currently interested in Knights Templar.

Due in part to the hype caused by the recent releases of both game Assassin’s Creed 2 and book The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown.
